Meet The Designer

CAROL COLE started her fine jewellery journey by a non-traditional path. Pursuing her  passion as a self-taught artisan, guided by an innate love for the craft. 20 years ago, embarked on an evening class at Lambeth College in Vauxhall, completing the NCFE Level 1 and Level 2 Certificates in Creative Craft in Jewellery, which served as the initial introduction to the craft and intricacies of jewellery-making.  Carol continued to develop her maker skills further, in 2008  enrolling as a student at Flux Jewellery School in Camberwell, South London. Carol dedicated to a series of technique-based short courses.. These immersive courses delved into various aspects of the craftmanship of fine jewellery, including stone-setting, wax carving, etching, and forming/forging. Through these experiences, Carol refined her craftsmanship and explored the creative possibilities of jewellery design.

Carol's approach to jewellery design stems from an intuitive place.  Jewellery is a silent language, a visual representation of one's personality and often imbued with sentimental value. It serves as a means of self-expression, a way for individuals to adorn themselves and communicate their person, in almost a tribal way.

Carol was one of 11 emerging fine jewellers from diverse backgrounds, selected to take part in The RRH Diamond Academy, in conjunction with the Natural Diamond Council and the Goldsmiths' Centre in 2021.

Carol has featured in 'Exhibitionist', a virtual platform, featuring the work of 6 exceptional jewellers from around the world, curated by award winning author, writer and curator, Melanie Grant, for  New York Jewelery Week 2022.
